The state of Blue-Bikes in Brussels

Did you know that CyCLO bike points are responsible for maintaining Blue-bike self-service bicycles at Brussels-Central, Luxembourg, Nord and Midi stations?

 

You can activate your subscription and find the answers to the questions on their website: www.blue-bike.be. To sum up: as a member (12 euros/year for the whole of Belgium), you pay 3.5 euros in Brussels for a journey of up to 24 hours. Remember, you must always return your bike to the place where you picked it up.
 

New feature: Blue-bike is replacing its key dispensers with locks that you operate using a smartphone. You can read more about the reason behind this change and how a digital bike lock works here. It is still possible to borrow a bike using a distributor in some cities, but this practice is set to disappear. This is the case in Brussels. Here is a list of places where you can find Blue-bike shared bikes and their respective rental systems:

BRUSSELS NORTH

Digital lock only

Only accessible during station opening hours, between 06:00 and 22:00

The bikes are located just in front of/next to the Bike Point North.

BRUSSELS CENTRAL

Key distributor* only

Only during station opening hours:

  • Via the Madeleine entrance (level -1): open from 04:30 to 20:00, 
  • Via the Principale entrance (level 0): open from 04:30 to 01:00.

The key distributor is located in the station building, opposite the entrance to the secured bike park. You will find it immediately after entering the station via the Madeleine entrance (at the foot of the Mont des Arts). The Central Bike Point  is just outside.

*The Blue-Bikes are in a secure bike park that requires a key to open the door, there are no plans to install a digital lock at this location for the moment.

BRUSSELS-LUXEMBOURG

The Blue-Bikes are located at the rue de Trèves exit.

BRUSSELS SOUTH

Digital lock only

The Blue-Bikes are located in the bike shelter on rue de France.This is at the end of the Galerie Sud and the Galerie Horta.

The Midi Bike Point is located inside the station building, at the entrance near the Tour du Midi.
